Yes, Disney has officially banned all commercial outside photography on Disney property and let me tell y'all, they are enforcing it!  Disney has officially cracked down on professional Orlando vacation photographers, not just inside the parks, but at Disney resorts as well.  This ban applies everywhere on Disney property, even Disney Springs.  This has changed how families plan Disney World photography sessions in a big way.     Listen, we love Disney as much as everyone else.   I love being a Disney annual passholder.   We are very disappointed and sad to hear about these changes, but we certainly recognize and respect Disney's right to enforce its rules on property.   Here’s what’s actually happening, what’s no longer allowed, and how to still get incredible photos during your trip.

The Disney Photographer Ban: What Changed in 2026?


In early 2026, Disney began strictly enforcing a property-wide ban on unauthorized third-party vendors, including photographers.


This is not just about Disney parks anymore.  Disney has now:

  • Prohibited outside vendors from operating anywhere on Disney property, including Disney resort hotels.
  • Sent cease-and-desist letters to photographers and other service providers, including former cast members and well-known local photographers who frequently provided services at Disney resorts
  • Warned that continued activity could result in trespassing enforcement or law enforcement involvement, or even being banned from Property for life.  


This is a major shift in Disney's photo policies.  Although it was technically not allowed, for  many years, professional photographers operated quietly at resorts, but that window has now closed.  If you’re looking for a Disney World photographer, this directly affects how and where and how your session can happen.

Are Private PAID Disney PhotoSHOOTS Still Allowed?


Short answer:  Nope, per Disney World's official policies, they are no longer permitted.


This photography ban includes:

  • All four Disney World theme parks, including Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom
  • All Disney resort hotels

Well, I got some news for you.  If you were hoping to book a paid session on Disney property with your favorite Disney photographer for your trip, you might be out of luck.  Here's how things currently stand:


No longer allowed:

  • Professional photography inside parks
  • Commercial photography at Disney resorts
  • Any commercial (paid)  session on Disney property


Still allowed:


You may be wondering, can I just add my photographer to the reservation as a workaround?  Well,  all this would accomplish is that Disney may allow you  to come in to the resort as a registered guest.  


However, if cast members or security observe a photoshoot taking place that involves professional photography gear such as large cameras, lenses and lighting equipment, they will likely interrupt and question you about the nature of the session regardless of whether your photographer is registered or not.  If they determine that it is a paid professional photoshoot (not family or friends) then they could ask you to leave the resort or even ban you.   It's not worth the risk.  This is the biggest shift we’ve seen in years for photography at Disney World.

The good news is you can still get incredible images during your Orlando vacation, you just need to move your session off Disney property.  In many cases, these locations actually produce better results because you have more control over crowd levels, space, and the overall experience.

1. CELEBRATION, FLORIDA (TOP CHOICE)

Located just minutes from Disney World, Celebration was originally developed by Walt Disney World, and it still has that same clean, storybook feel that families are so drawn to.
