ORLANDO MATERNITY PHOTOGRAPHER
Hey! I'm Daniel, and I'm an Orlando maternity photographer who genuinely believes that baby bump photos aren't just something "nice to have." They're a must. Not because Pinterest says so, but because twenty years from now, you're going to want proof that you did this, that you carried this person, that you glowed (even when you didn't feel like you were glowing), and that there was a whole universe of anticipation wrapped up in this season of your life. As your professional photographer in Orlando I'll create heirloom maternity photos for you which will stand the test of time.
Why CHOOSE DANIEL PLASENCIA PHOTOGRAPHY?
There are so many photographers in Orlando. A lot. Plenty of them are genuinely talented. So why does it matter who you choose? Because a maternity session isn't just about pressing a shutter button. It's about how you feel for the entire hour you're in front of a camera, while carrying an extra human being, possibly in 80-degree Florida weather, in a flowy dress you're hoping photographs better than it fits right now. That experience is entirely determined by who's behind the lens. Here's what I bring to every session:
- I make you forget you're being photographed. I'm not the photographer who stands 40 feet away shouting "okay now laugh!" I'm next to you, talking with you, cracking jokes about pregnancy brain, and guiding you into positions that feel natural because they are natural. My shooting style is stress-free and easy going.
- Experience that shows. I know exactly how light moves through a live oak canopy at 6pm in October versus July, which locations actually photograph well versus just look good on Instagram, and how to flatter every body type at every stage of pregnancy.
- A style that ages beautifully. My editing is light, natural, and timeless. There are no heavy presets, and no trendy filters that'll make you cringe in a decade. Just clean, gorgeous images that look as good framed or on a canvas as they do on your phone.
- A focus on real moments. The best images I've ever made weren't from a perfectly executed pose. They happened in the in-between, the hand resting instinctively on the bump, the partner's look from across the frame, the laugh that came out of nowhere. That's what I'm always hunting for.

When Should You Schedule YOUR Maternity Photos?
One of the most common questions expectant mothers ask is when to schedule their maternity photography session. For most women, the ideal time for maternity photos is between 28 and 34 weeks of pregnancy. During this stage, your baby bump is beautifully visible, but you are typically still comfortable enough to walk, pose, and enjoy your session. Waiting too long can sometimes lead to increased swelling, fatigue, or the possibility of your baby arriving earlier than expected.
First Pregnancy
If this is your first pregnancy, scheduling your maternity session around 30–34 weeks is often ideal. Many first-time moms carry slightly smaller and may want additional time for their bump to become more prominent.
Second or Third Pregnancy
Mothers expecting their second or third child often show earlier in pregnancy. In these cases, scheduling maternity photos between 28–32 weeks can be a great option.
Twin Pregnancies
For twins or higher-order multiples, we generally recommend planning your session earlier, often between 24–30 weeks, since these pregnancies frequently progress more quickly and can become less comfortable later on.
Seasonal Considerations in Orlando
Orlando's weather can also influence the timing of your session. During the summer months, many families prefer sunrise or evening sessions to avoid the midday heat and humidity. Fall, winter, and spring offer some of the most comfortable conditions for outdoor maternity photography throughout Central Florida.
Frequently Asked Questions About Orlando Maternity Photography
How far in advance should I book?
I recommend reaching out between 20 and 28 weeks to lock in your preferred date. Fall and spring weekends fill up months in advance, so earlier is always better. That said, if you're 32 weeks and just found this page, still reach out. I'll do everything I can to make it work.
What is the best location for maternity photos in Orlando?
It depends on your vibe. Kraft Azalea Garden is ideal for romantic and lush. Windermere is stunning for sunset-over-the-lake drama. Mead Garden is perfect for something relaxed and natural. We'll narrow it down together during the planning process based on your style and what you're hoping to walk away with.
Do you help with posing?
Absolutely, and this is something I take seriously. I guide every single movement throughout the session. You'll never be left standing there wondering what to do with your hands. I direct, I demonstrate, and I keep it feeling natural the whole time.
Can we choose our own location?
Yes. If you have a spot that's meaningful to you, a specific park, your neighborhood, somewhere with a story. Let me know and we'll make it work.
What if it rains?
Florida weather is famously unpredictable, so this comes up often. We monitor the forecast together and reschedule if needed. No fees, no stress. A light drizzle with moody clouds? Actually beautiful. A full Florida downpour? We wait for a better day.
How many photos will I receive?
Your gallery will include 60 to 80+ fully edited images delivered through a private online gallery. No watermarks, no download limits.
Do you offer in-home maternity sessions?
Yes, and I genuinely love them. In-home sessions have a completely different energy. Home maternity sessions are intimate, real, and deeply personal. If you're interested, just mention it when you reach out.
Do you travel to Windermere or Winter Garden?
Absolutely. I serve all of the greater Orlando area including Windermere, Winter Garden, Winter Park, Dr. Phillips, Lake Nona, Celebration, and beyond. Travel fees may apply for locations outside a certain radius.
How long does a session last?
Most maternity sessions run 60 to 90 minutes. That gives us enough time for location variety, an outfit change if you'd like one, and those in-between moments that almost always become the best images.
What if I'm nervous or don't feel photogenic?
Most of my clients feel exactly this way before we start. Almost every client leaves saying that it was so much more comfortable and fun than they expected.
I'm not here to put you on a pedestal and stare at you. I'm here to talk with you, make you laugh, and document something that's already beautiful. You'll be fine. I genuinely promise!
